"There are more things in heaven and earth ... than are dreamt of ... " - I don't know either, but like you, I wish I could believe.Mizeltohnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365244084462704027.post-50453907764225992532012-06-26T18:35:28.565+01:002012-06-26T18:35:28.565+01:00Very sad. The image of Gillies and Brindisi Breeze that day at Cheltenham--the perfection of it--is enduring; two young, talented beings whose lives were so interwoven and whose fates so similar is almost too much to comprehend. I can read your words and think of the horse and the man, and know that something very important is near, but it is beyond real understanding. There may be no guarantee of eternal life, but we do know that they will live on in the hearts of those who knew them. Wonder if that, in itself, is enough.

"Love" among creatures is a deep mystery--even for us humans, who've been trying to figure it out for ages. Animals just live it; would be incredible just once to see things from their eyes.

The pony is too dear, and the Pigeon has perfected "smug."

BirdAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365244084462704027.post-40683575450830460842012-06-26T16:55:34.220+01:002012-06-26T16:55:34.220+01:00A thoughtful and moving post. He also appeared to be a good communicator with a vibrant personality often lacking among many in the racing fraternity. Tragic news indeed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
