Thank you for your thoughts during this crazy time which I hope, and pray, results in common sense prevailing, and Scotland can then move forward, secure in the knowledge it is truly loved for all the right reasons.the running wavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10935779419652043366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365244084462704027.post-66384219450045810942014-09-17T23:18:50.982+01:002014-09-17T23:18:50.982+01:00While I am glad in a way that lots of people have ...While I am glad in a way that lots of people have actually been talking about current issues and reading articles and blog posts and talking some more - I am also weary of heart at all the bitterness, and can't wait for this to be over. Except it won't be - because whichever side it comes down on, there will be some sort of backlash. Part of me wants to just curl up and say 'Will you all please just take your arguments and Go Away.' If you want lessons in negative campaigning, glance over at politics across the ocean! I'm terribly sorry this has happened on your homeland. When I visited Scotland in June, the debate on the radio was loud, but quite respectful. I suppose as you get closer, a desperation sets in and people lose their minds for a bit. You need only look at real terrorists, hurting everything and everyone in sight to know that in every generation, there will be people who will lose their minds over power and control.
I, too, will be thinking of you tomorrow.ninahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222848486174278888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365244084462704027.post-69366814009344644932014-09-17T23:00:45.832+01:002014-09-17T23:00:45.832+01:00Not long now soon it will all be over and it will ...Not long now soon it will all be over and it will be yes or no.
Merle.......................Merlesworldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00573975763012762631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365244084462704027.post-47481124022723098212014-09-17T22:41:45.038+01:002014-09-17T22:41:45.038+01:00Caught a glimpse on the news last night about some...Caught a glimpse on the news last night about some of the extreme responses to opposing voters and thought of you. That would not be Tania's idea of a decent debate went through my mind…
We have our own situation going on over here with an election coming up on Saturday. What the effing f*ck!!!
I remember the language "issues" in Canada, living in Winnipeg which had the largest French-speaking community (St. Boniface) outside of Quebec. The almost daily irate letters to the editor at the newspaper where I worked complaining about "all that French" all over the supermarket. Give the soup can a one-quarter turn, Madam, and you will find the English equivalent. Geesh!
When we first got to Belgium, we arrived to more language issues, this time French and Flemish (Dutch). This tiny country of 10 million has a federal government (as it should) and TWO provincial governments (one for Flanders, the other for Wallonia), language borders & apoplectic language supporters on both sides (although the younger generations don't seem to be so taken up in/ by the fight)...

Finally, are you sure that Yes supporter wasn't accusing Ed Miliband of being a CEREAL murderer. I can't tell you the why or why nots, but usually in the cases, I go against the shrill voices, the ones that will not compromise or listen to anyone else, but then I remember that humans are not rational beings.donna bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13507579686738843451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1365244084462704027.post-45489131608378268062014-09-17T18:34:00.736+01:002014-09-17T18:34:00.736+01:00the voice of reason, as always!the voice of reason, as always!betsyspangleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14514222157802305624noreply@blogger.com
