Oh, I so wish my Westie would chase a ball out of doors on walks but he doesn't, he never has, not since some bigger boy dogs pinched his ball off him when he was a puppy, on our local playing field. He was so scared of them he scarpered and ran all the way home, across the road (well, a suburban side street) and my heart stayed in my mouth for hours after. He will play "bally" and catch his "dolly" in the house (we whoosh it down the hallway from the sitting room) but that is the extent of it. He won't even play ball in the garden on our own lawn. I think he was permanently traumatised. Even though it is ten years ago.

But he can pull the bally/dolly face, even so, when he has his mad half-hour of a late afternoon. He does the tongue thing. I dissolve. What are we to do, Tania? The dog love, the horse love (we have budgie love too). We are just stuck with it, I guess.

SO agree about the short paragraph, or any paragraph for that matter. If I am reading anything online and there are no paragraph breaks, I move right on past.

I find that the only way (for me anyway) to relieve stress over work not yet done, is to just buckle down and get it done. So perhaps that is why you are feeling good about your 57,000 words. So many! How many pages is that?

Have seen that Frenchman on the beach; could hardly believe it. My aim is to achieve that level of joy with my mare, if not quite his absolutely brilliance. But shall look up the Martin Clunes thing. (She did walk beside me without a halter for ten minutes today, stopping when I said stop, and will now back up with a tiny tap on the shoulder; can't tell you how much delirious pleasure it gives me. Pat - it's about all elements of female beauty in the 21st century; politics, media, fame, real women etc etc. My bit of it keeps turning into a mad rant, bloody Botox etc, and the calm co-writer has to talk me down off the ceiling. Much more complicated subject than at first I thought.
