A very special Birthday

Posted by Tania Kindersley.

A huge, vulgar, no holds barred Happy Birthday to my darling mum, who faithfully reads this blog every day, come rain or shine.

Here are some special pictures to make her smile:

These were all taken in the garden this morning.

Here is my lovely sister, from last week:

And even though I hate having my picture taken, here is me, because my entirely partial mother likes looking at both of her girls:

Thank the photographic angels for black and white, and all its flattering arts. In the spirit of full disclosure, this is more what I really look like:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MUM. And here's to many more.

  1. How utterly auspicious - today is also my dear chap's birthday and I've just pulled a dozen springy little vanilla cupcakes out of the oven...If I could, I'd pop a plateful down the line for you and your Mum to share with a cup of tea.
    Birthday Wishes and heavenly crumbs.x

  2. Happy Birthday to your mum!

  3. I've been coming here for a couple of weeks, perhaps longer, and have been so taken with your prose, I went in search of your book and had to go all the way to Australia to order a copy. I suppose I might have gotten one online from a U.K. bookseller, but I already had an account with Readings in AU. I await its arrival in the Deep South of the U.S. with great anticipation.
And best wishes to your mom, whose birthday comes just two days before mine. We Geminis are forces of nature. One must be brave and fierce in their dealings with us but also warm and loving.
    Your blog is amazing. Thanks.

  4. This really made me smile - happy birthday to your Mum!

  5. LOVELY comments, thank you so much. I just made my mum read them and she is beside herself at the sweetness of the blogosphere.

And Jean P, my special new reader from the Deep South: a huge welcome to you. Amazed you tracked down the book. So sorry you had to get it all the way from Australia. It is on sale in America I think, but only a tiny distribution so perhaps not in your neck of the woods. So hope you enjoy it.

  6. Happy Birthday to your mum. And thank you for the pictures. Gorgeous!

  7. Yes, a wonderful birthday wish to a fellow Gemini lady...mine is tomorrow. And, I think you're gorgeous! xx's

  8. Happy birthday to your Mum. Thank you for such beautiful pictures.

Your comments give me great delight, so please do leave one.
