I’ve been banging on a bit this week, so today I thought I’d give you a nice rest. Instead of a bunch of words, there is a little black and white symphony of pictures on which to rest your tired eyes.
Wet, sloppy snow in north-east Scotland today, and one lousy degree, and lowering grey skies, so the camera did not go out. This is a selection of portraits from the last week, of my Lovely Ones:
Stanley the Dog:
Red the Mare:
Autumn the Filly:
Myfanwy the Pony:
The newest addition to the field, who has taken to pitching up promptly at breakfast time. She is a young hen pheasant. She shall be called Beryl the Bird:
The hill:
There was good racing today. A couple of my most favourites did not win, but a lovely supernova strolled into view, in the shape of The New One. He cantered home, leaving everything flailing hopelessly in his wake, under an elegant, quiet ride from Sam Twiston-Davies, last seen on the blog when riding darling old Hello Bud to glory at Aintree. I had two huge trebles, so the ponies might get new rugs. And Stanley, of course, shall have the most expensive treats money can buy.
Beryl's quite a girl, isn't she?
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to say this for the past few days - Myfanwy has the most amazing eyes. Irresistable!
ReplyDeleteI love Stanley and his ears!
