Bonus Post: the light

Posted by Tania Kindersley.

I just went outside to take the dogs for their evening walk, and this is the light I saw:

Sometimes, if one of my pictures comes out a bit dull or flat, I beef up the contrast, or increase the light, using my favourite Picasa software (miraculously free on the internet).  These pictures are completely untouched. These are the colours that existed in nature, in the North East of Scotland, at 7.44pm, on Sunday the 3rd of April. I feel that should be marked. I'm not sure I ever saw anything quite so lovely.

PS. One of the kind readers asked about the camera. It is an Olympus PEN and I love it. It is not as grand as a full SLR, but it is much, much prettier. I put a zoom lens on it, and am thinking of getting one that can take intense close-ups, I'm not sure what it is called, because I like getting in close and sometimes this one just won't do it.

  1. These are beautiful. That gorgeous light makes me feel a bit sad that we're heading into winter - although it feels like summer still. Then I read down to see that a shed is going to block your immediate view! Is it too late to whisk your neighbour inside and show him your pictures?
